Course overview

This 2-day course begins with the information required to understand, manage, and configure your HP StorageVirtual P4000 SAN. This training covers topics such as HP SAN/iQ® 10 Software features and functionality, configuration, iSCSI protocol, as well as HP SAN/iQ 10 Software in several popular application environments such as Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, and Oracle. It also covers best practices for HP StoreVirtual P4000 SAN - based on field experiences and applied industry knowledge, such as installation and configuration of HP SAN/iQ® Software, use and verification of iSCSI Initiators, and MPIO.

Course objectives

  • Install, configure, and verify the Storage System, the Centralized Management Console and the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator.
  • Create an iSCSI SAN
  • Understand and use sophisticated HP SAN/iQ storage management tools
  • Install, configure, use and verify MPIO connections & HP StorageWorks DSM for MPIO and Windows disk partition offset
  • Configure & use iSCSI SAN system
  • In the class you will set up the three key components of a SAN solution: The Storage Systems (sometimes referred to as Nodes) that hold the data; the CMC, which allows you to control the Storage Systems; and the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator, which enables you to connect to a remote iSCSI device from Windows
  • You will also see how to manage the SAN array for maximum reliability and data integrity. You will get hands-on experience using some of the important configuration and performance tools for your HP LeftHand SAN
